The recipe link at the top of the page will gradually be populated with recipes, methodologies, and ingredients that we have found useful in our health journey. We embrace dietary philosophies of PHD (Proper Human Diet), NSNG (No Sugar No Grain), LCHF (Low Carb High Fat), VLC (Very Low Carb), Ketovore, and Carnivore eating regimes. Each philosophy has played a role in assisting us regain our health.
Diets have not worked for us. After decades of repeatedly losing and regaining weight using doctor recommended diets, we found that a change in lifestyle allowed us to both lose weight and regain our vanishing health. A key strand in the tapestry of lifestyle changes was our diet. The most important aspect of the dietary changes we made was drastic reduction of carbohydrates. In order to make this sustainable for the rest of our life, we have created or adapted many recipes which are both delicious and nutritious.
We have made these health changes using only lifestyle and diet. I want to emphasize that we have had no bariatric surgery and along the way and have eliminated many medications including high blood pressure medications, anti-anxiety medications, SSRI antidepressants, injected insulin, and diabetes oral medications.
We are offering this information as an account of what has worked for us. We highly recommend any change in lifestyle or medication be approved by a licensed healthcare professional. Every person is different and will have different results.
