Elevate your presentation with this easy-to-make parmesan cheese bowl.
Here’s a simple and delicious way to serve roasted vegetables, green salad, cubed meat—or even ground meat, (like a taco bowl). A cheese bowl adds a crisp, savory burst of flavor to any meal.
How to Make It:
Sprinkle freshly grated parmesan cheese in a frying pan over medium heat. The pan size can vary depending on how large you want your bowl. While pre-grated cheese works in a pinch, we prefer fresh parmesan, as packaged varieties often include starchy additives. This photo shows parmesan with a little cheddar added.
Let the cheese fry until the edges begin to crisp and the center looks melted and golden.
For years, I used a pancake turner to lift the cheese and drape it over an inverted ramekin, soup bowl, or drinking glass. It works—but it's a bit oily, slippery, and rarely comes out symmetrical.
A Better Way:
This time, I placed a ramekin on top of the cheese while it was still in the pan, then covered everything with a cutting board and flipped the whole thing over in one quick move. Experiment with sizes and shapes for more fun.
Voila—a perfect parmesan bowl with far less fuss!
