At Improvisational Keto Kitchen, we love using pork rinds in creative ways: as nacho toppings, as panko for salmon or chicken, or as a flour substitute in waffles and muffins. Unlike most commercial options that use seed oils, we're committed to using pork rinds popped with healthier methods. Our preferred technique involves an air fryer, which works great but isn't always accessible due to space or cost constraints.
To address this, we developed an alternative method using a microwave. It's quicker, easier, and yields results comparable to air frying. The secret lies in a simple trick: placing the pork pellets in a partially sealed paper bag. Give it a try and taste the difference yourself!
You can use from 1/2 cup to 1 cup pork pellets in the paper bag.
A tooth pick is used to hold the open end of the paper bag shut
After three minutes on high setting the pork rinds are popped and ready to eat.
WARNING: They are HOT
For 60 years, Rudolph Foods’ commitment to excellence has been passed from generation to generation, just like their love for flavorful, traditional pork rinds snacks. In 1955, John Rudolph learned of an untapped market for pork rinds and the Ohio entrepreneur quickly launched his own company producing pork rinds from smoked bacon rinds.
